The Loft

The Loft is best described as a cozy, cottage style beach home, perfect for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Take in the tranquility and relaxed vibe that is essentially what Kennett River is all about. Arguable one of The Great Ocean Roads most charming coastal hamlets, the beaches here are uncrowded, the Otway Ranges are your backyard and overall, it is a place fit for a variety of activities. Fishing, surfing, swimming ,hiking, sun baking and more are all on your doorstep.

The house itself sits about 300m back from the beach and is a short 10 min walk over to the Kennett store and main beach. The Loft is as comfortable as beach cottages get. Full of character and well cared for, the home features timber floors, lofted ceilings & lofted open bedroom, hence the name. Two further private bedrooms flank the open plan living area. The front bedrooms here have great views with the master room having direct access to the spacious balcony area. Other features include combustion fire place, gas oven/cook top & BBQ, dishwasher and for the ultimate lazing around, check out the hammock. Ample off street parking at entrance level ticks another box.

As you would expect of this part of the world, the property is often visited by a variety of wildlife including Kookaburras, Rosellas, Parrots and the odd Koala Bear. Wye River pub and general store is under 10 minutes drive and Apollo Bay offers itself as a stunning hour drive along perhaps the most spectacular sections of the Great Ocean Road.

So much to do when really we think all you will want to do is kick back and do nothing. Quite ironic really 😉

Kennett Bach

This comfortable three-bedroom beach house has stunning views of the sea and the Kennett River Beach that can be enjoyed from the open plan kitchen/living and dining area.

A large deck that extends across the front of the house is perfect for catching the all day sun or for enjoying a family BBQ on the Webber. Large gum trees at the front and back of the property are home to the resident koalas, parrots and kookaburras. An expansive grassy area at the front of the property is perfect for the kids summer games. Wake early to watch the sun rise over the sea from the two front bedrooms. At night star gaze or watch the car lights as they snake along the Great Ocean Road from the comfortable lounge area. In whale watching season you may be lucky enough to see a pod cruise by close to the Kennett River outlet.

It is only a five-minute walk to the beach, which is perfect for surfing or swimming between the flags in summer. On the way to the beach you will pass by the Kennett River Store so you can pick up the morning papers or sample the pizza at night.

The kids will love the downstairs games room complete with pool table, PlayStation, DVD, toys, library and even a trampoline in the backyard.
