Great house for a large group

We enjoyed our stay over Easter weekend. We had four teens and four adults and found there was plenty of space for us all. Lovely views from the balcony! The house had a few minor maintenance issues…. If you want a house that is fancy and bling, this is not the place for you! But we enjoyed the “lived-in” cosy feel. Well equipped with everything we needed for cooking/BBQ dinners etc. Also there are three toilets which was a great asset for our teens (🤣) and a lock up garage for the bikes.

8 George Street Lorne

We have been holidaying in Lorne for forty years! Our children’s children now holiday with us. 8 George street has been our chosen location for over the past decade. It’s a very comfortable home, with everything you need. Thank you for another lovely family holiday!

Wont book again

I booked this place 3 years ago but had to cancel because I became pregnant and was told I needed to be on bed rest by the hospital because of my short cervix so I ask for a refund the owners would not let me have a refund. I change it to the following year and we were in lockdown again no refund. Rebooked again the year later and then we were struck down with the Covid virus again no refund. I wouldn’t bother booking here again.

Lovely location

We have been staying in this house for nearly a decade. It’s a great house! Some improvements this year in furnishings and fantastic that there is now internet. Could probably do with a freshen up with painting and bedding.

Great House

This is a lovely comfortable house with the main bedroom and ensuite upstairs next to the open plan living dining kitchen area. It may not suit very young children or those with mobility issues due to the stairs, and it’s situated at the top of a long and very steep hill. We love the views the sound of the ocean and the challenge of the hill! This is our second year and the owner has added a large smart TV wifi- a must really and adds to the experience.

A lovely property and great location.

Fantastic house, plenty of room for a big family or a couple of small families! Great location near town so kids can head to the skate park or beach by themselves and really good attentive service!

Great property, excellent service and communication. The only feedback I would offer is that not having wifi in 2020 is a huge let down.

Great House!

'A great house with a good layout for multiple families. Lovely view but a big walk up the hill to get there, which was achievable but not for everyone. We were there in winter and the bedrooms were very cold so take lots of layers! Very reasonable price.'

Great Views, Great Location, close to main street

Loved our stay!

Loved our stay here. Ideal for multiple families or with younger children as bedrooms downstairs are tucked away. Great open plan living and outdoor entertaining. Great communication and so close to everything.

Spacious

Great place for our research group to stay while attending a Conference at the Cumberland Resort. Place was spacious so didn't feel over crowded with the 7 of us staying. Would definitely book again, even if for just a vacation with friends or family

Beautiful views

Woorolong really suited for our needs. The hike up the hill would be tricky for some people wishing to walk everywhere, but the views from the house were amazing.

Lorne favourite

My family loves this house with great spaces for older children. My only issue is the TV upstairs and downstairs are really inferior. When paying premium rates I believe the amenities like TVs etc should be more contemporary and wifi should be an included service. We book every year and will continue to do so but seriously think the owners should consider upgrading appliances and get big screen TVs.

Great for vacation with family and friends!

Our two families with two kids each family, between the ages of 7 and 15, enjoyed a long weekend away from Melbourne at this place. While the steep incline from the beach up the hill to the house might not suit everyone we didn't mind it at all and loved the peace and quite around the house. Getting to and from the beach is a 10min. leisurely walk. The house has three bedrooms downstairs and one larger one with ensuite upstairs, next to the living area with kitchen. In addition to the upstairs living area it also has a laundry, another living area and a garage downstairs, which is great if part of your party wants to watch TV and the other feels like doing something else. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and we didn't miss anything. Booking, as well as pickup and drop off of the key was also very easy, except that one key for the house wasn't probably the best, but we probably could have requested a second, which we didn't, since we only stayed for three nights. All in all we can recommend this place for families with kids and we would have certainly enjoyed staying for longer.
