Not great at all - missing so much for the price

KYLIE L - 7th August 2023

We arrived at the property to no firewood and a dead bird in the living room which had pooed all over the lounge area. Discovered quickly there was only 1 tea towel, 2 very cheap and thin towels for the whole stay and no bath and shower gel or soap in any of the bathrooms. Then no wifi at all, couldn't even connect our phones to the smart TV's (just kept looping). And the TV is in the dining area, not the lounge area. We won't be staying here again and recommend choosing another place to stay.

Very secluded place with lovely ocean views

Marcus W - 23rd October 2022

"Uneatable views of Wye River from close to all corners of the house, and a luxurious kitchen/living space to enjoy it all. The stand-alone bathtub was a fantastic addition, and a great place to have a wine and listen to a podcast. As we stayed in the 'off-season', we were able to enjoy the hikes/restaurants and scenery minus the Summer crowds. The team at Great Ocean Road Holidays were responsive, kind and accommodating. I was travelling with a friend, and from past experience, I have learned to give heads up that we need both rooms made up. This was all confirmed and done for us before we arrived, and key pick-up was a breeze in Lorne. Would definitely recommend to anyone :)"

Thank you :-)

"Thank you for helping to make our 20th wedding anniversary so memorable. Beautiful home, stunning views and spectacular wildlife. Wonderfully spacious home, peaceful neighbourhood. Such a gorgeous part of the world! Thank you again."

No basics provided

Anna B - 19th April 2022

Stunning views and could be an amazing stay but such a lack of care and attention. The dishwasher didn’t work, basics were not supplied (not even salt or pepper or a bar of soap). No one responded to our messages re the dishwasher. I just think for the price point it’s definitely not good enough. It should have plenty of supplies and someone who responds when something needs fixing. No wifi. Not even a coffee pod machine. Not right for the price. No real care there.

It was a great house, the view and the location made it worth the money. The only downside is picking up or dropping off the keys which can be an inconvenience if you have other things to do. Overall great house!

Stephen O'Farrell - 20th April 2021

Great location and views down to Wye River. The house is well appointed and setup for families though no real garden for kids to play outside as property's on a steep slope. Views more than compensate though!

Diana Truong - 30th March 2021

Lovely place for the group of us to stay - much more spacious than what is depicted in photos. thanks for a great stay!

Febe Trujillo Jackisch - 28th February 2021

On arrival at the accommodation- weary from a 3 hour drive with a toddler and post a night shift, we were met with an unclean house. We quickly moved on from the dead flies and moths in the kitchen area and commenced cleaning and tidying up. We were more excited about the room we had actually booked the $600 a night accommodation for, which was the master with the free standing bath. In the photos it had a view and appeared worth the money. You can imagine our horror when we walked up and found the bath tub almost half full with water and completely full of bugs and dead/hovering mosquitos. We immediately rang the Great Ocean Road Holidays number at Lorne to let them know that it was smelly and full. It was almost 4pm so the person on the other end of the line said “its late you will need to wait til tomorrow”. No worries. No bath for our toddler today. The next day I had an email from the Great Ocean Road Holidays stating a plumber would be coming, this was at 1.40pm before we were about to head out on our second day. So we rang back and they let us know someone would be coming. We put our afternoon plans on hold. At 7pm, we gave up and went to grab dinner. Toddler again, no bath and by this stage, my husband commenced emptying the bath manually as the bugs were making us feel ill and attracting more mosquitos. We spent the evening attempting to swat the mosquitos and clean up the bath. At checkout, we cleaned the house and left it cleaner than it had been left and went in to the Lorne office to let them know. I was greeted by two women, who were not at all interested. I let them know that I had to call several times and one of the women looked up and stated “oh youre that one with the plumber- ummm yeah he didn’t have time to come around”. Whilst the other one looked at me without an apology and stated “ hmmm we don’t have notes but we will call you”. I let them know that it had hindered our plans, and we were not able to enjoy our stay and they just remained silent. I am not one to normally complain. However, as a tired and overworked paramedic who throughout the pandemic was looking forward to my first break in 12 months with my family, I was left in tears. It was the complete disregard for someone else’s time, money and memories that left me in dismay. Not even a follow up phone call or an apology. Considering there is also a current virus ongoing in mosquitos also, this poses a huge public health risk with stagnant water. I have photos of the bath after we had drained most of the water (still blocked) and what appeared to be tics on the towels.

A beautiful property with a magnificent view. Will definitely be rebooking this place again ❤️

Meredith Cole - 18th January 2021

Spectacular views! Very spacious, with two lounge rooms (the second with TV and Xbox 360). Comfortable beds. We enjoyed the birds visiting the balcony. Be prepared for a long walk up a steep hill from the beach.

Mohammed Almehdar - 20th December 2020

We liked the house very much. The outlook is amazing. The house is very stylish, modern and cozy. Almost everything one might need was available. Thank you

Jenny Tran - 11th November 2020

Gorgeous views. Great place.

Stunning Property

Sarah J - 1st October 2020

We loved every minute of our stay in this beautiful home. The view is absolutely amazing and you are provided with absolutely everything you could need for a break away from home. We enjoyed open fires in the fireplace each evening and BBQ’s on the balcony joined by the local bird life. The kids were kept entertained with the book and games collection and they loved having a go on the X-Box. Like many properties in Wye River, it is located high in the hill - it’s a tough walk!

Great house for a family trip, big open kitchen and living room with ocean views. Wye is a great spot just out of the hustle of Lorne. We had a great long weekend away!

Anonymous - 27th June 2020

Amazing views and the fire place was a winner for cold winter nights. So good having two lounge areas so the kids could escape when they wanted to. And a bath with a view!

Superb!

Richard - 10th March 2020

As good, if not better than it looks in the photos. Sitting out on the deck amongst the tree tops was superb. Main ensuite bathroom simply stunning and the views of the beach from the main living/ kitchen were fantastic

A special place for a special family !

KeziaHolidayEnthusiast - 27th January 2020

From the moment we reversed into the driveway, we could tell we picked the right house. We unlocked the door to a wide expanse of beauty: large open lounge room, amazing jaw dropping ocean views and probably the most extravagant bathroom Ive ever has the pleasure to use. The house added such an extra level of comfort and joy to our holiday and made sure it was one we would never forget. The best wildlife, the amenities and the views made for an awesome stay! And even on those bad weather days we were Still able to spend quality time playing the Xbox, board games and watching fun family movies! It was a haven for comfort and fun and a holiday i will remember forever!

An amazing weekend away!

Njallen - 29th November 2019

Had a fantastic weekend away with the family at this beautiful house. The view was absolutely amazing and the house was perfect. Will be back again!

Spectacular views

Kirsty - 9th April 2019

We had a fantastic stay in this stunning house high up in the treetops. It was much bigger than the pictures suggest with extremely comfy beds and the bath with a view was wonderful. The balcony was very spacious with comfy chairs from which to enjoy the sweeping views of the beach and the kookaburras and cockatoos around us. The kitchen was well equipped though I recommend bringing pantry basics as not much provided. Overall we had a memorable and enjoyable stay, highlights being the bath, the big open fire and the huge balcony for wildlife / sea / stargazing.

Fabulous stay

Rebecca - 25th March 2019

Fabulous stay in a great location. Ideal holiday home with the right amenities in a beautiful home. The view is worth the walk up the hill. We will look forward to returning as we wanted to stay longer! Thankyou

Great Weekender

Jennifer - 11th February 2019

Great layout, views, modern, good kitchen and balcony.

Incredible views!

Simon - 3rd August 2018

Fantastic place to stay with incredible views to the beach and birds visiting your balcony each day. My wife and I stayed here with two other couples during winter and the wood fire place in the main lounge room makes for a fantastic place to hang out. You will though need to starch up on supplies for the pantry and bathrooms with only minimal supplies provided. And those wanting a good coffee in the morning will need to trek the short distance down to the General Store with only instant coffee provided

Outstanding holiday home

TrudyV - 19th July 2018

We had a wonderful winter stay at Vue Sur La Mer. The view was spectacular (including the view from the bath) and the house was beautifully decorated and very relaxing. We had everything we could need, with a well stocked kitchen, and plenty of board games for the kids to play. The open fire was lovely, and made for some very cosy nights. We went for some great walks around Wye and Lorne. We would definitely stay again.

Would stay again

Sooz - 14th June 2018

Another excellent stay in Wye, beautiful property, crazy well stocked with all the utensils you could possibly hope for. You really neednt bring anything with you. The real estate are lovely and really accommodating with early/late check in/out. Would happily stay again!

Amazing views

Chez - 23rd May 2018

Amazing views made extra special by visits from the local Kookaburras and Koalas
