Positioned within a uniquely narrow corridor of properties nestled between native bushland and the ocean, Bauhaus is a luxurious coastal holiday destination at the quiet end of town. Enjoying breath-taking panoramic views and located a mere 100m from one of Lorne's loveliest and quietest beaches, the position alone is enviable.
The home itself is grand. Inside and out. Native landscaped gardens and lush lawns tend to understate the home at street level. Off street parking provides easy access to either level of the house. Entry at ground level has a somewhat Nordic flavour with fine stone work, leather lounges and wood stove, which evidently generates hydronic heating throughout the house supported by electric heating.. Regarded as the second living area, this space is flanked by 3 bedrooms, main bathroom, separate powder room and European laundry. Other features downstairs include TV and upright piano and floor to ceiling glass doors opening up to the front garden.
Upstairs takes everything on offer downstairs literally to the next level. Behold the main living space awash with breathtaking views capturing Lorne's iconic highlights including the pier, main beach, Otway forest, township and extending out to the horizon. There is no shortage of lounging potential with 10m of day bed wrapping around the entire front of the living and dining area and nestled at the base of the huge windows looking towards the ocean. A modern chaise lounge adds to the comfort. The warm glow of the open log fire provides further ambiance while triple sliding doors bring the outdoors in and extends the living space even further. Kitchen and dining both occupy this open space with the fully en suited master bedroom, with ocean view, offset to the rear.
Outdoor living is catered for in a variety of ways at Bauhaus. The large rear deck adjoining the kitchen is secluded and sheltered from winds and features a custom built 10 seat outdoor table setting and inbuilt 5-burner stainless steel BBQ. The Eastern deck adjoining the upstairs living room has a 5 seat heated spa and views to the pier. Lush green lawn stretch across the front of the property and a second lawn area at the rear boasts a king size hammock big enough for the whole family. Kids will be kept busy in the large sandpit, trampoline,, kids games wall, and kids outdoor hangout zone
Bauhaus does not experience any through traffic and as such is all about peace and quiet. Its proximity to the beach is matched by the Stony Creek Nature Reserve forest walk, lily pond and cascades, little more than a stones throw away.

Pricing is based around seasons, length of stay and number of guests. It is important all bookings reflect the exact number of guests. If this changes, you must contact us. Unless otherwise previously agreed, all stays must only be used for private residential usage and to accommodate the number of guests stated on your booking. Unless ‘Pets Welcome’ is advertised, the property is strictly no pets.
All holiday accommodation bookings are accepted on the basis that all occupants will treat the property with the same respect as their own home in accordance with the “House Rules”. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.

My husband and I and our two adult children, their partners and 5 young grandchildren have had the pleasure of staying at Bauhaus in north Lorne on three occasions during the summer holidays. We adults enjoyed the stylish, much loved and well appointed family home while our young children enjoyed the trampoline and outside spa. We all liked the close proximity to the beach and rock pools. However, my favourite pastime was stretching out on the comfortable seating under the large panoramic window and soaking up the awesome view of the Lorne coastline with the surf club and the pier in the distance. A special place.
