What could best be described as an industrial revolution in holiday home design, The Shed has a style all its own, and features the rare ability to comfortably accommodate the largest family or group of couples. Set in a quiet idyllic bush setting, only 400m from the heart of town, The Shed redefines the traditional holiday home. Seven bedrooms flank the kitchen, dining and living area which give new meaning to the term open plan. Multiple deck areas across two levels afford guests the perfect opportunity to come together or be apart. Three of the seven bedrooms include full ensuite bathrooms, one in particular complete with free standing bath. The main living space offers two separate lounge areas, galley kitchen & dining space, and features a double sided wood fire. Industrial lighting, polished concrete floors, spiral staircase and sculptured steel window shades, all add to this modern masterpiece.

Wonderful
Steve P - 31st July 2022A lovely place to spend with the whole family
A great house for a big group. Context I went with some adult siblings, our mum and some kids for our mums 60th. It’s a great location and well decorated for a holiday space. Across the road is bush land which is stunning and it’s not a far (few minutes drive but it’s a steep hill to walk) to the main strip and it’s not far to drive to waterfalls. The produce box was fantastic- little box of local treats! We really enjoyed the actual stay overall. To detail the lower stars: It’s not cheap but no big house is. The description unfortunately doesn’t detail the bathroom placements or the huge size difference in bedrooms. So downstairs is a bathroom and 3 bedrooms two with ensuites- one room generous size and the other very generous with breakfast table and inbuilt day bed. The third bedroom is a good size. Upstairs is a master bedroom with an ensuite including bath. The other 3 bedrooms upstairs are very small with doors that have no handles and must be closed by someone outside the room. The shower and toilet are seperate (which is convenient) and tiny tiny rooms. The check in itself is ok as you collect from a shop not far but you have to collect in specific business hours. A coded lock on the property would be ideal. The communication is excessive- I’ve never experienced so much and because they manage several properties it’s all general. Clear details in the Air BnB ad is all we needed not the long long long texts and messages. Lastly the rules are so explicit regarding the cleaning upon leaving it felt like we were on a school camp or something. It’s not much more than we’d normally do upon checking out however it felt a bit OTT and a bit ‘what is the cleaning fee paying for’.
Great house in a great location, highly recommended
Brilliant location and great for our large family of 13 + 2 dogs. The house and furnishings are however a little tired – the kitchen in particular needs some attention. We also found lots of little bugs inside. The fireplace was fantastic and kept us warm during a very cold and wet weekend. For those travelling with pets (or toddlers), there is no secure outdoor area. Our dogs were fine as they can be trusted off lead but I wouldn't leave them outside without supervision. Had a lovely stay, would love to return but hope some improvements are made.
Great for large groups
Nick S - 5th April 2021The Shed is a great space for a large group of family or friends. However the host needs to spend some money to bring it up to a standard to justify the price. It needs a new dishwasher, there are no hand towel rails in several bathrooms, the TV remote was broken (not just batteries) and several pool table cues were unuseable. All fairly simple things to fix....
Large space worked well for our group, few odd finishes throughout the house but added to the quirky and uniqueness of the property.
The shed is in a brilliant location with access to Lorne beach and a short walk into the forest. Great space for groups with plenty of room and good facilities. Easy check in & communication. We really enjoyed our stay.
The place was really nice and clean, specially you can be entertained with the small pool table. The fireplace offers a good warm place in cold weather. However the photos are overselling the place, also the location isn’t what’s offered in the pictures and you’re just right next to the road to falls.
Better than I expected, can I book again please!
Disappointing
Samara A - 9th December 2020The house itself was great, the condition of it however was not. It appeared not much other than the bed sheets were cleaned and even then the linen had stains. We still enjoyed staying at the house but was expecting it to be cleaner for the amount we paid to stay. Things like, dead bugs/spiderwebs everywhere, around the bed heads, toilets, ect. We also found half eaten food left in the dishes cupboards. Other than these things, the house was spacious, we enjoyed the welcome basket and location.
Perfect spot for families to break away
Edward F - 30th November 2020We were 4 couples and a few kids and stayed in this house for the first time. It was the perfect place in terms of space, privacy and facilities. loved the tranquility as not in the busy part of town. The house was clean, has a good kitchen and dining room table for meals and enough bathrooms to cater for everyone. The fireplace was also a winner as we had one day where the weather was playing up. Highly recommended, definitely booking this again on our next visit!
Great place for family holiday. Walking distance into town. Only negative was there was lots of bugs in the rooms when we arrived.
Good for family Gatherings
Quick getaway
Margaret M - 20th July 2020Great space just looking a bit tired. Had to purchase wood when arrived as non available at house for wood fire heating.
Great location, only a quick walk down to the beach and township, tidy and spacious house with lots of room for large groups.
Great space
Maddie - 27th February 2020Easily fits 14 people and a bonus having 5 bathrooms. Be aware there is only a very tight spiral staircase to upstairs bedrooms, making it difficult to carry bags etc. up. Three of the upstairs bedrooms are very cramped with no wardrobes or hanging space. In fact if you were staying a while it would be frustrating having nowhere to hang or put clothes, even in the other rooms. There is no front fence so it's not really pet or toddler friendly. Although not far from the town(900m) the hike up the hill is strenous. The house is tired, kitchen cupboard doors hard to open, photos make it look much better than it really is. Despite all that our large family enjoyed being together for a wedding.
Stylish Space
Ushi - 9th October 2019'A stylish space, big enough to accommodate our large family. The accommodation is in a quiet, leafy location yet still close to amenities. Super comfy beds; like sinking into a soft cloud. The accommodation may not be not be ideal if you have children as there is no real outside space to play in, apart from the car parking area, and therefore possibly more suited to adult groups / couples. There is a pool table which the kids loved, and kept them nicely occupied inside. We had a lovely stay and just wished it could have been for longer. Hopefully well be back some day
A great property!
Susan - 19th August 2019'One of the few places large enough to accommodate 7 couples. It was great having five bathrooms too. The open file kept the place cosy and the kitchen was very well supplied with pots, pans and cooking utensils. The property is walking distance to town although the hill on the way back is a bit a challenge. In summary, a great property for a large crowd
Beautiful Location
joysey23 - 17th July 2019My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in "The Shed" to celebrate my special birthday, all good.
The Shed is simply stunning
Soup - 9th July 2019Beautifully presented house with such wonderful living spaces. The wood heater gave that wonderful sense of warmth and calm. The bedrooms were spacious and there were enough bathrooms to manage the personal preparations of 6 women! It was within walking distance of the lovely town centre of Lorne and the beach, a little hill climbing is involved however! A truly relaxing, roomy and beautifully presented house. I would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks- Highly recommend!
Suzi - 14th June 2019We really enjoyed this house as a place to stay as a group of adults. We could all be together , cooking, reading, sitting by the fire and playing pool. The open fire was perfect! The beds were very comfortable too. Thanks - highly recommend
Great for multiple families
TheEasterGang - 26th April 2019Enormous space, well suited to multiple family groups. House layout meant that each family group had use of their own bathroom. Beds and bedding were super comfortable. The house was clean and had plenty of cleaning equipment available. Well stocked kitchen with plenty of equipment (chopping boards, saucepans, knives, plates, bowls, etc.). Kitchen included basics such as oil, sauce, salt & pepper, tea & coffee. We loved the double-sided fireplace and used it at every chance. All communications with GORH were pleasant. Check in / out was super easy.
Ideal for Extended Family
JR43 - 12th June 2018We have enjoyed using the Shed 3 times. Ideal for all ages.
Great spot for a weekend with old friends
dpfisher31 - 16th May 2018A wonderful location and spacious area for six old school friends with their partners to have a weekend away. Set far enough back from the main road to be nice and secluded, but also close enough to easily access town. The beds were comfortable and the living space nice and open so we could relax, play board games and enjoy each others company. Key collection and drop off was easy and we'd be happy to recommend.
Big and beautiful!
Shannon - 19th February 2018Great Location; walking distance to the main street. Beds and bedding; were very comfortable (had a great sleep). Perfect number of bathrooms/ensuits to number of bedrooms. Plenty of off street parking. really enjoy this house - would definitely return!
Fantastic space
Nick - 6th December 2017Enormous space and great value for a large group. Amenities are amazing (5 bathrooms, fireplace and a pool table). Location is good too. Secluded feeling yet not too far from the main strip (a vigorous walk, Id say). Probably our only qualm was that a few minor things seemed a little cheaply finished. I mean, it is clearly a property designed for large social gatherings as opposed to being lived in by a family, but this mentality showed when the light fittings along the kitchen cabinetry popped off whilst someone was cooking, which turned into a 4 person effort to hold the fluorescent tubes in place before we realised that we could affix them without tools. But fantastic space for an entertaining weekend away. And top notch communication from Liz
Will recommend
Ashlee - 27th March 2017We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. Thanks for the great communication and easy check-in / check-out. Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to my family and friends.
Location Good
snowy - 13th November 2016Great house. Good facilities Spacious Comfortable bedding. Good Parking. We had a great weekend at this house. Lots of people but weren't on top of each other. Even fed the kookaburras by hand. A few more chairs so that we could sit around the table together would have been good
