Amazing veiw

Best place to stay, hardly left the deck with that view. So relaxing and calming just watching and listening to the o ocean. The local birds are also so friendly. Best place to stay. Definitely be coming back!

We used Sands End as our wedding accommodation, and we considered it almost perfect. It is an amazing place, with one of the best views you could get in Wye River, and is a dream to fall asleep listening to the waves in! It is perfectly located only ~80 meters from the pub and general store meaning you rarely need to use the car if you're planning on staying only in Wye. A few things worth noting: There is a somewhat transactional nature of the stay. Pick up and drop off of the keys is in Lorne and isn't communicated until a few days before - we were on our way further up the coast so this meant we had to spend an extra (unanticipated) hour in the car to start our honeymoon. There is no Wifi if you're planning on staying for an extended period of time. We had someone with Vodafone which doesn't get coverage in Wye, and with no wifi, this meant they had no ability to use their phone at any point. As is the case with most places in Wye, it's tank water only so don't be frightened of the water colour! Having said the above, we loved nearly every second of it and would definitely stay at Sands End again!

The views are truly stunning and the location is perfect. The house is a mix of modern with some areas clearly renovated, but some other parts are tired and some general maintenance and opportunities to enhance presentation would make for an amazing experience. Beds are comfortable with great views from all upstairs rooms. Great access to the beach, pub and general store.

great place to stay

Great view- if you can use it .....It seems it’s all about the money . Rented this property over a weekend only to find that the owner had book in major tree work to be done. Unfortunately this was not communicated to us so we had 2-3 chainsaws going plus a industrial mulched from 9am to after 5pm Approached the rental company still have had no response. We were unable to be in the house for the whole day completely spoiled the whole weekend . No compensation given. No communication

Bliss on the beach

Loved the views, loved that it had two separate areas for living. Loved how close we were to the beach and loved how this house made me feel!!

What a fabulous home !! Two seperate apartment/ spaces .. Two bed upstairs two down 3 toilets .. The views are spectacular and a quick walk to the beach and pub or general store ! We will definitely be back :)

Fantastic location, gorgeous views, 4 beds were all so comfortable & 1 bathroom was absolutely not a hassle at all with 2 additional seperate toilets solves the amenities. House is absolutely great & we will be back.

Gorgeous views, lovely house

We had a perfect four night stay here with our two small kids. The views are spectacular from every room, and despite being just a few minutes walk from the pub/shop/beach the location feels very secluded and is surrounded by greenery. We had lots of gorgeous birds visiting - superb fairy wrens, rosellas, cockatoos, magpies, and even a kookaburra. The house is super comfortable and clean, with comfortable beds, big rooms, and good heaters. We only used the upper level, which has two bedrooms and a living/dining/kitchen area. The lower level has another two bedrooms and a kitchenette but is accessed separately (ie, there's no internal staircase). Highly recommended!

Nothing wanting!

Sands End has stunning views and close to the beach and the pub, at the same time very private. A few minor exterior only maintenance issues which makes the quality a 4 but nothing which impacted our stay. Large bedrooms, climate control, comfy beds, huge open plan, great deck and all round very clean, awesome place. We were wanting nothing, from the array of cooking accessories to power boards at every bedside - all the small conveniences you never notice unless they're not there! Highly recommended.

Perfect Location

Absolutely stunning view of Wye River beach. The walk to the beach is an easy 4-5 minutes and it's about the same to the cafe and general store. The house is beautiful and spacious. We absolutely loved our one week stay here. Only minor notes for possible improvement: 1. the outdoor deck setting could do with a revamp and 2. we couldn't give 5 stars for cleanliness as there were a few little issues (e.g. gunk in the bottom of the dishwasher which we had to remove and a fair bit of dust under a few of the beds). These were definitely only minor issues - still happily give the house an overall score of 5!

Great location and views

Living area was nice and cozy, dining room looks out on the beach and the kitchen is well stocked, very nice to cook in. Every bedroom is a good size, nice linen and storage space, also a view from every window and the sound of the ocean all day every day. Not sure there is a better holiday rental in Wye River that is close to beach, pub and store.

What a view!

We stayed at Sands End as a group of 8 (4 couples) and couldn't have had a better Wye River experience. From the get-go the staff at GORH were great to deal with. The property was spotless, great amenities, open planned spacious living/dining/kitchen area, 4 well sized bedrooms with ocean views and a 2 minute walk to the general store, pub, beach. The photos don't do the view justice. We spent most of the weekend just taking it in from the balcony. We can't wait to get back down there again.

4 couples, all family. We loved this place. absolutely perfect unbelievable views/position, spotless/ an unforgettable treat, would be hard to find a more superb experience on the coast.

Great house clean and tidy the kitchen is very well equipped the views from the deck are awesome close to beach and pub we will back. You can drift of to sleep to the sound of the waves from every room

This Is That House!

You know while you drive down Great Ocean Road that house overlooking the ocean that makes you think gee, I wonder who lives there?. This is that house. Fantastic house in a fantastic location. We couldnt have asked for anything more. Ample space within the house meant everyone lived in comfort. The location (3 min walk to the beach, two doors down from the pub!!) meant we were well entertained over the course of our stay. Amenities were modern, TV with media centre was well put to use and the beds were as comfy as clouds. Already planning our next trip here!

Great location, amazing views, very light. Easy, open living room/dining/kitchen. Superb Deck, quality BBQ. House was well presented and well equipped. We'll be back.
