Nestled in a little known pocket of Lorne, the home offers both easy walking access into town and an abundance of privacy, peace and tranquillity. Bordering both Polwarth Road and Clovelly Court, Lorne Hiatus is a brand new (2018) contemporary beach home.
We use the word home as it is just that. Two story and projecting from a steep block the timber clad home sits comfortably in the surrounding treetops. Simple yet cutting edge u-shaped architecture provides 3 impressive bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and multiple indoor and outdoor living zones.
Both side entrances on the top level access two rear hallways. One passing the fully ensuited master bedroom, and both accessing the main open plan living zone. The layout is classic.
Behold the central lounge area cleverly divided from the kitchen, dining and deck area by a stairwell heading downstairs. It gives the open plan a sense of separation and togetherness all at the same time. Lofted ceilings and north facing floor to ceiling windows ensure an abundance of natural light and bring the surrounding forest into the room.
Polished timber floors, combustion wood fire, stone bench tops and double sliding doors leading to a stunning deck area are part of a long list of modern features.
Descending below, Lorne Hiatus continues to show its versatility by design. Off to the right is a spacious kids room. When we say spacious, we really mean huge. It could easily be two rooms. Its the kind of room you could set up a full train set in and still have room to play a game of twister. Its big. To the rear is a main bathroom and laundry. Heading left is a relative compact second living room, TV room or reading area.
A nice little place to chill, this room leads towards the third bedroom or Hiatus studio. Also accessible from outside, this space is fully en suited and includes a bunch of features that allows it to function as an Airbnb through other times of the year.

Unless otherwise previously agreed, all stays must only be used for private residential usage and to accommodate the number of guests stated on your booking. Unless ‘Pets Welcome’ is advertised, the property is strictly no pets.
All holiday accommodation bookings are accepted on the basis that all occupants will treat the property with the same respect as their own home in accordance with the “House Rules”. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.

Nice house but some problems
Charlie C - 19th June 2022Nice property but really annoying the oven door wouldn't close, so had to go without for weekend. Also quilts on beds for summer temperatures. Cold in winter.
Great view on the hillside
Adam R - 26th April 2022The property was in a great position to see and hear the ocean while still in the trees. To really make this property feel that little more luxury would be to have more pillows on the beds, towels, and cushions on the coach. Offstreet parking would be nice as well. The balcony door off the kitchen doesn’t lock either.

Anastasia A - 18th July 2021We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Lorne Hiatus and would not hesitate to book again! The house is beautiful with everything you need, nothing has been missed. The fire place makes staying in winter super cozy and the view is pretty special. Even though google states it’s a 10 min walk we weren’t brave enough to take on the steep roads to get us there so we got around all of the time by car.
Modern, spacious house on a quiet street with a feeling of being amongst the treetops while at the same time boasting a sea view. Very comfortable.
Amazing stay

The Lorne Hiatus was a stand out when looking for places and it was an amazing space to support us during this time. Being suspended amongst the gumtrees with a view of the ocean was absolutely spectacular! The kitchen, dining area and bbq was also awesome. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others.

A little slice of heaven!
Melinda N - 1st February 2021A modern house set amoungst the gum trees with relaxing ocean views. It is the prefect place to relax, refresh and recharge! Spacious, luxurious, comfortable and practical. The good sized modem bathrooms, inside and outside spaces to enjoy. Enough space for combined fun and privacy. The steep steps to the front doors can be hard on an older body or injured leg, but once your in, it's worth it! Very enjoyable!
Spectacular views. Peaceful space with beautiful amenities. Three bathrooms makes it a prefect destination for a group of friends. Fabulous communication. I'd definitely recommend this wonderful property and return. Helpful to know the views come with a steep incline and steps to climb up and down from curbside parking only to access the property.

Attention to detail is second to none
collo14 - 23rd April 2019Everything has been thought of in this amazing home with incredible views over the ocean and perfect orientation to capture an expanse of natural light and sea breezes. A short (albeit steep!) walk in to town makes getting around easy and makes for a very convenient location, whilst feeling like you're away from it all. I've never come across a more well-stocked kitchen which is a cook's dream. Bake a cake, cook a roast..everything you could need is there. Board games for the kids are included and there is enough space for two families to comfortably spread out and enjoy the space. Highly recommend.
