Summary

Welcome to CALLAHAN a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom quintessential 1970's beach house with renovated kitchen and bathroom, facing Marengo Beach with gorgeous ocean views. Sleeps 8 - 3 Queen beds and 2 King Single beds.

Description

Welcome to Callahan, the quintessential 1970's beach house offering sensational views over the Marengo beach and reef. This picturesque property is opposite the beach on the ocean side of the Great Ocean Road. Only 30m walk to Marengo Beach, it is an easy 2km walk into Apollo Bay's township, either along the popular walking/bike track or the beach itself.

This is an older home with a renovated kitchen and bathroom, and provides a central open fireplace in the kitchen and lounge area which opens into a north facing dining and sitting space. Unwind here and soak up the sun during the summer months or cosy up by the wood fire during winter.

Two of the 4 bedrooms face the ocean, enjoying the north sun, and the other 2 bedrooms are at the rear of the property. The main bathroom provides dual access from the master bedroom and hall. The second bathroom is accessible from just outside the rear entrance, making it great for rinsing off after a trip to the beach. The property has ample car parking and a large shed with plenty of space for the kids to play, even on those rainy winter days.

Disappointing

Sally Mattner - 22nd December 2021

We were very disappointed with the presentation of Callahan. The lo cation and The front dining room are it's selling features. The 2 back bedrooms were dark, depressing and unwelcoming with curtains falling down in one room and lumpy beds. The freezer was frosted over, a wet towel had been left on the laundry floor, the fireplace hadn t been cleaned out, the pantry cupboard and microwave hadn t been wiped out. All of this lead to a very bad start to what should have been a relaxing holiday.

Amazing Views

Sally Marks - 24th July 2021

We were hanging out for ocean views, and we got exactly what we were looking for. Stunning views from the living area, dining area and main bedroom, as well as the deck when it was warm enough. And less than a minute walk to be on the beautiful beach!

Great Spot to Relax

Rainbows on the deck, beach views, fireplace... relaxing!

Old world charm - on the beach

Chris - 5th July 2016

Callahan is a gorgeous old family home with nice modern trimmings like skylights, bathrooms, downlights and kitchen. A stack of great board-games totally seduced the kids and the views of the beach and the seal colony did it for us parents. The open fireplace just made the whole place even more comfy and memorable. Marengo is wild and wonderful and the people at GORH were great too - really helpful and friendly.
