Atrocious Customer Service

Isabella Tassi - 2nd July 2023

I booked via Airbnb and had no contact. Found an email in my spam with little details. Not only was this place dirty and broken facilities but they also wanted to charge additional for linen. On top of the $500 for two nights. They are not a local company and appear to operating interstate. SUPPORT LOCALS. Will never stay here again. Glass tables are not kid friendly and it’s NOT an enclosed yard for pets.

Hi Isabella, we appreciate your review and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Beach Shack - 3 Fry Court is sold with no linen included. However, we can arrange for it at an additional charge. Also, we encourage our guests to contact us if something's faulty or broken at the property, especially if it is not cleaned to your satisfaction upon arrival. We could have sent someone for assistance. Rest assured will coordinate your remarks with the appropriate team, especially on how we can highlight the availability of linen on the site. We hope to serve you better in the future.

We couldn’t stay any longer!

Tia Fallows - 29th June 2023

A run down house. We felt so uncomfortable that we had to leave earlier. Never again!

Improvements needed asap

sam Gower - 7th January 2022

We stayed at this house 2 years ago and nothing had changed besides a new lounge. With minimal cost this could be more safe and give guests value for money. Just go to Kmart! Curtains rotterd, ill fitted or don’t work, cords not secured BIG danger for kids. Poor quality kitchen wear. Only 3 outdoor chairs. Dangerous alfresco area rails rotted. Dangerous glass coffee tables not attached to legs. Beds terrible. Spa doesn’t work. Garden needs pruning as it scratches cars in driveway.

room for improvement

regina sedita - 8th April 2021

.Had no television as it wasn't working , it was fixed 10 hours before leaving, with no compensation. Mattress in first room is horrible, hair all over one of the quilts, lounges absolutely filthy, need fans for bedrooms or outside blinds as very hot in them , only one dishwashing tablet was left for a 4 day stay with 5 people ,and every bowl ect is chipped and should be replaced. The bushes in driveway need to be cut back so not scratching car ,and only three outdoor chairs provided .

Fine as a budget place for exploring the Otways, walking distance to the shops.

Hugh Richardson - 6th January 2021

Very disappointed with this accommodation.  Extremely basic with no feeling of welcome as you open the front door, it's not a place that should be listed on Airbnb. It's more of a serviced house.  An overall feeling of stinginess prevails. With a bottle of dishwashing liquid costing $2, it was an insult to have 2 small sachets of dishwashing liquid left and 1 dishwasher tablet for a 6 night stay. Lots of instructions to guests re cleaning before leaving premises, but with half a kitchen sponge provided, very difficult to clean benches as expected. The vacuum cleaner had no suction power as the bag was so overloaded with no spare bags provided.  Clearly this is rarely checked. No hand towels. The pillow on the single bed had half the stuffing hanging out.  With the gas stove, we were left with a dodgy gas lighter and 5 matches.  Most of the crockery had chips in it – very unattractive and unhygienic.  The couches are clearly in need of an upgrade. The only plus was that this listing is pet friendly, however there is no gate so it is not secure. I could not recommend this listing to other people.

Functional and comfortable dog friendly space. Outside area was larger than expected, including parking spaces off the road.

Rosalie Foster - 29th November 2020

Close to the shops and beach

Lisa Kemp EMAIL KLB - 24th November 2020

The house is old however was clean and tidy and contained all you need for a great holiday. Perfect location, only a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Situated on a large block in a quiet court with nice gardens and deck. Couches could do with an update. Would stay there again if we were to return to Apollo Bay.

Sally Watson - 25th October 2020

This is truly a beach shack but it’s all you need

Basic but clean

Sally Watson - 25th October 2020

The Beach shack was exactly what we wanted for our trip away - low key and easy. The house was very clean but it is old. The cream couches are really dirty and so could probably be replaced or even have a cover over them. The bed in one of the rooms collapsed twice and the spa didn’t work. It was however big enough for 6 of us

Rachel Hamilton BACK KLB TO BE EMAILED - 19th October 2020

We had a good stay and this was a second booking for us at this property.

Jenna Hepburn - 5th October 2020

Lovely little beach shack, light and bright and close to town and beach. Just check what’s included- may need to provide own towels, soap, dishcloth etc

Value for money

Chris - 9th June 2020

Nice quiet location with walking distance to shops and beach. House was clean and had everything we needed. Would have liked the place to be fully fenced but apart from that all good.

Nice place

Moesy - 25th September 2019

Nice, quiet and spacious house. Close to beach and amenities. Taking or purchasing linen is a bit of inconvenience considering the cost per night ($155).

Quiet central location

kenn - 1st February 2019

Great location . 10 minutes walk to beach and about 15 to town shops. Quiet court street with a private back deck. Plenty of room for off street parking. Thre good sized bedrooms. Shower over bath with good washing machine and another separate toilet.

Location okay, but...

Juls - 8th February 2018

House was dirty - dusty, dead flies, hairy floor, dead white tail spider in sink. It was like the house hadn't been cleaned for some time. Dirty loo. Kitchen stove exhaust fan not working. The largest gas hot plate partly blocked - dangerous, so we didn't use (I reported it) - gas would not come out, then came out in a rush. Broken crisper-dish in fridge, broken knives in knife block Dirty windows. Outdoor deck covered in garden litter and the outdoor table was dirty. I never used the BBQ so don't know if that was clean. I had to wash the mattress cover on the main bed it looked so awful. Only 6 large plates and 5 water glasses so the dishwasher had to go on daily. No champagne flutes - we stayed over New Year. Windows were dirty, there was a plague of ants in the living room and the 2 out of 3 of the bedroom doors wouldn't close properly. The garden could do with a trim blackberry brambles). The house was a short easy walk to the beach and quite light (though thicker bedroom blinds in the two easterly bedrooms would be good given the sun is up at 6am!). Sub-standard especially when you consider how much money is charged for peak season.
