Cozy but over priced
Janette ScottKLB - 21st February 2022This is a small cosy cottage well appointed with every thing you need except for creature comforts which i would expect for a price tag of $350 a night. Bring your own lined including towels and no wifi. the property is smaller that it looks in photos and with only one 3 seater couch and one uncomfortable bench seat would be a bit snug for a party of 4. A bit hard to find when arrived in dark and spent 10 min trying to work out why there was no lights. Had to find power box and turn on mains
Cosy, welcoming stay
Sarah Auletta - 13th July 2021Lovely, updated little cottage. Welcoming, with cosy furnishings, and access to warm fires (inside and out, and the wood was well stocked). We were surprised by a little welcome gift, which was lovely. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances to suit the needs of our little family. Only problem was the dining table is too small for the family to eat at together but that was manageable. We would love to stay here again! Would definitely recommend a stay here.
Disappointed
Claire Agius - 7th July 2021The location is great and the cottage itself is a cosy space especially with the little potbelly going. But I was really disappointed with the level of cleanliness. It isn't great finding baked on food on cutlery, plates and pots/pans. Also, the BBQ was completely unusable with mold growing on the plate. Carpets/mats could do with a good clean (especially disappointing given I've got a toddler). So lots of potential, but please respect your guests by ensuring that it is in a clean state.
Great stay!
Elyse Arnel - 17th May 2021We were in town for the Great Ocean Road running festival and this place was perfect! Weather was chilly but the fire place gave some lovely ambience and kept us warm. Electric blankets on the beds and a million extra blankets kept us toasty. Cosy cottage with everything we needed and it was a great base for a long weekend. Seamless check in and checkout experience. We’ll be back!
Great location and excellent service.
A very cosy, inviting space. Beautiful atmosphere, both inside the cabin and outside of it. Easy communication with host. Wish we could have stayed longer!!
cute cottage in ideal location
Anna Dehne - 3rd April 2021Had a wonderful late summer holiday (6 nights) at the end of February, with a friend. We loved everything about the cottage: lots of light; decor well-thought out and tasteful, incl. bed linen and lots of magazines on architecture and interior design; kitchen very well equipped (even the pantry had some essentials e.g. herbs/oil/salt/ sugar); good size bathroom and great shower; the spacious deck (beware sliding doors can snap shut!); the location on a hill but still very close to the ocean.
The house is great - the hosts are not
Incredible location, kitchen is well equipped, nice bathroom, balcony and a comfy couch!
Lovely location, very sweet little cottage on the hill. The check in process and communication with the travel company was simple and easy. I was disappointed that this property was significantly more expensive to book through Airbnb than directly through the company and that (although hire is stated) linen comes at an additional cost. I have never experienced this at any other Airbnb property and have never been expected to make and strip the beds (what is the cleaning fee for?). The room was nice and clean, with a lovely little fire for the cooler nights. Would have loved to have seen a little more provided for breakfast (only teabags) and a slightly earlier check in given the expense. Overall, a nice stay in a very nice spot and we enjoyed our time, just a few little things to go with the cost and it would be a perfect little getaway :)
Perfect location and loved the outdoor shower! Great for a relaxing beach holiday.
Cute house! Thank you ????
Great house with everything you need. Super cosy and close to the beach. Would definitely return.
Beautiful, comfortable, relaxing getaway that exceeded our expectations. Truly felt like a home away from home. Clean and peaceful, and loved falling asleep to the sound of waves.
We loved the location in a quiet spot just up the hill from the beach. The property is very cosy, great for a small family. Bathroom was very clean, bedrooms nicely set up, some attention needed with kitchen equipment but great amenities in there. Nice touches with the decor and we especially liked the outdoor decking set up however we didn’t get to use the BBQ as the gas was leaking - hopefully this will be fixed and the next group enjoys the great surroundings and tranquility of the spot :-)
Proceed with caution
Bron - 10th October 2019This is a cute, cosy, well appointed and charmingly decorated cottage. However please note, there is now a house being built next door and you may not get the quiet, relaxed stay you planned. Our first two days they were working very loudly from early morning until sundown. Also, the attention to detail of the servicing is severely lacking. We found items in the cupboard dripping wet, a dead cockroach in the washing up rack which was soaked and dirty, out of date pantry items, a knot of hair in the main bed, and a nest of hair in the shower. The heater is insufficient so you should know how to use the pot belly stove if it's cold. After initially being very rude about our complaint, the real estate later gave us a small token voucher for the Brewhouse, but it wasn't really enough to make up for the inconveniences.
Fantastic hideaway
Samantha - 28th September 2019A cosy beachside cottage, perfect for a quick school holiday getaway. Even without the sun this home and location provided us with the perfect home from home.
Gorgeous Cottage for Relaxing Getaway
Ellen - 11th March 2019Our family of four really enjoyed the week away at this little cottage. Compact but well equipped we wanted for nothing during our stay. Gorgeous views of the ocean and trees made for a relaxing environment. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic Beachside Getaway
Steve - 13th January 2018Barca View Cottage is a comfortably appointed holiday home, with a nice beachside vibe. The cottage is located uphill in a lovely lightly wooded area of Skenes Creek, allowing for fantastic views through the trees to the beach in the distance. There are no shops in Skenes Creek adding to the sense of seclusion. Apollo Bay is only a short distance away, allowing for shopping, restaurants and wide selection of take away food. The cottage is well laid out and appointed to allow for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is basic, but provides for all holiday needs. The large outdoor terrace makes great use of the views. We would highly recommend Barca View Cottage for a comfortable, beach-side holiday stay.
Beach stay
Fk79 - 7th February 2017We stayed at Barca View cottage for a 2 night stay during a family holiday exploring the great ocean road. The cottage is small but very comfortable for a small family, and tastefully decorated with lots of special little touches. The outside deck was a fantastic place to rest and relax, with an outdoor setting which was perfect for dining on warm evenings. The beach nearby has amazing rock pools, and we fell asleep to the sound of the waves at night. Skenes creek is an ideal location, close enough to drive in to Apollo Bay for dinner at night, but far away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Would highly recommend this property to others!
